Scoring

Since it’s renovation in 1996 from church to recording studio, Ocean Way Nashville has been the favorite destination in the eastern US for recording strings and orchestral projects including film scores, trailers, pageants, chamber orchestras, quartets, and sweetening on countless hit records. Groups as large as 82 have recorded in the space.

Studio A features 30’ ceilings and 2850 square feet of recording space (including 4 iso rooms) in addition to an 800 square foot control room with an ample producers desk large enough to work with hefty charts. The vintage Neve 8078 is the largest of its type in the world, featuring 80 inputs of pure warm analog audio along with a 64 channel monitoring section. Our proprietary 14 channel cue mixers are stationed at each section so section leaders can adjust cue mixes as needed.

Video monitoring is available both in the control room as well as the studio for scoring sessions.

Our extensive collection of vintage and new microphones is available on the website (www.oceanwaynashville.com) and includes a pair of original Neumann M50s and a Decca tree which are ideal for capturing the rich ambience the room offers.

Nashville has a large body of talented orchestral musicians who have earned their living recording for over 30 years. Some play with the Grammy Award winning Nashville Symphony Orchestra, others record full time. The group is very accustomed to working with the varied intent that both classical and non-classical recording demands.  They work efficiently and are famous for their ability to quickly accomplish the goals of the composer/conductor.
