New Gobos Are Here
At last we have finished building our new gobos. Designed by Ocean Way Nashville’s Pat McMakin and Sound Construction’s Todd Beeten, these gobos offer a more versatile design than many of the older style gobos that only absorb sound. Ours offer rpg style diffusion on one side and a combination of reflective and absorptive properties on the other side. The tops are removable clear plexiglass, making them useful in a variety of applications. Additionally, our 4′ X 8′ gobos now have diffusion on one side and absorption on the other, give them enhanced flexibility of application. Yea, we kind of like this kind of stuff.
Equipment News
To better serve our orchestral clients, Ocean Way Nashville has recently added new orchestra chairs that are a wonderful improvement over the old folding (squeaky)ones.
Additionally , we recently acquired a pair of Sennheiser MKH800 microphones that are a staple among scoring engineers.
New baffles are in design stages and we think they will be a great reinvention of this often overlooked but very important element in large format studios.
The new Ocean Way cue boxes are now in service, created by our own Sal Greco and built in-house. Paired with the Crown D series amps, our cue system boasts unparalleled performance and clarity. We believe that if a musician can be inspired by what they hear in the phones, they will play inspired parts.
Also added to studio A, a pair of JBL JRX 100 speakers for studio playback.
